FOX News came to Proteus/2ergo several years ago to dip their feet in the newly-emerging mobile web. WAP was still a minefield of carrier barriers and handset primitivity. FOX News wanted us to meet these challenges with a mobile web site that would counter these difficulties and offer a news experience that would bring their users back over and over.
I worked with the emerging media team at FOX News to deliver one of the first mobile news sites. We met the challenges head on with a design that was simple, brought important content to the forefront, and strengthened the brand. Over the years, the site has grown with the mobile web to include weather reports, breaking news alerts, and content for specific handsets.
FOX News would follow up their news site with a mobile presence for their new network, FOX Business. I led the team that built mobile web functionality to deliver the latest financial news along with up-to-the-minute stock and market information.
